In the one year since Donald John Trump was sworn in as the President of the United States of America, it has become apparent that he has failed to faithfully execute the office of President and further, he has committed high crimes and misdemeanors in a manner that demands that the People of the United States, from which all political and governmental power is derived, and this relationship is clearly delineated in the Constitution of the United States of America, demand that Congress exercise its Constitutional power to remove Mr. Trump from office by the Constitutional means of Impeachment.
Whereas;
1. President Donald John Trump has failed to execute the office of President of the United States by his refusal to implement Sanctions against the Russian Federation legislated by Congress on August 2, 2017 Public Law No: 115-44 (08/02/2017). specifically, TITLE II--SANCTIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND COMBATING TERRORISM AND ILLICIT FINANCING. President Donald John Trump has missed all deadlines for implementation and reporting required by this law. This is a high crime. On January 28, 2018, the final deadline for imposing new sanctions, President Donald John Trump refused to implement any new sanctions.
2. President Donald John Trump has enriched himself and his family by using the power of the office of the President to cause the government to rent property from businesses controlled by Donald John Trump (Trump Tower, Mar-a-Lago resort, various golf course properties, Trump Hotel in Washington, DC are examples). Access to the president is for sale in the form of membership at Mar-a-Lago Resort, which increased annual membership fees from $100,000.00 per year to $200,000.00 per year after Trump’s election. Such enrichment is prohibited by Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 of the Constitution. Such enrichment and exchange of cash to entities controlled by Donald John Trump can be construed as a Bribe and is subject to Impeachment in accordance with Article II, Section 4.
3. President Donald John Trump Conspired with a foreign power, the Russian Federation during and after the election campaign of 2016 as a means to increase Trump’s probability of winning the election. Such conspiracy was described by former Vice President of the United States, Mr. Richard M. Cheney, as “an act of War” against the United States, and as such, this conspiracy, if confirmed by two persons, can constitute an act of Treason against the United States, which is grounds for Impeachment. Article II, Section 4. All co-conspirators can also be considered to be guilty of Treason and if they remain in Government, are also subject to Impeachment for Treason as well. Should those individuals leave government employment, they are subject to prosecution for Treason by the Justice Department under the laws of the United States.
4. President Donald John Trump has failed to execute the office of President of the United States by the nomination and installation of Cabinet Department Secretaries and administrators with people whose true mission is to destroy the very departments they have sworn to Execute the office Faithfully. These include the offices of Secretary of Education, Secretary of State, Secretary of Health Education and Development, the Secretary of the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of the Interior and others. Given that this mission comes from the President, this is a gross failure to execute the office of President in violation of both the Constitution and his Oath of Office. This constitutes a High Crime subject to removal from office by Impeachment.
5. President Donald John Trump has chosen to damage the United States Intelligence Community, which he sits at the top of, by both attacking the work product and the personnel within the CIA, DIA, NSA, FBI and Department of Homeland Security. This undermining of the US National Security agencies both weakens America and increases the risk of Americans to both domestic and international terrorist attacks, anywhere in the world. This undermining of the national security apparatus makes America a less reliable security partner and has the potential to cut off international cooperation with American intelligence. This is a High Crime subject to removal from office by Impeachment.
6. President Donald John Trump has shown weakness to America’s adversaries and his inability to control his emotional outbursts on social media (primarily Twitter™ and Facebook™) and his use of these media as “official” communication channels with what is reported to be an insecure cellular telephone, has emboldened and caused rapid advancement of both the nuclear ambitions and capabilities of North Korea, a known adversarial nation, and also subject of the Sanctions Act signed on August 3, 2017 by the president. This childish brinkmanship with a known to be unstable dictator of an adversarial nation borders on irrational behavior by our president, and constitutes a High Crime subject to Impeachment, or his removal from office under Amendment 25, Section 4.
7. President Donald John Trump has referred to refugees from unfortunate nations of the Earth in the extreme pejorative; “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”. It is a high crime and misdemeanor for the President of the United States to refer to any nation on Earth in this fashion, and for a president to do this is beneath the dignity of the office, and completely unacceptable for a President of the United States. Further, this unacceptable and racist behavior by the President damages international relationships gained over decades of difficult diplomacy in the areas of terrorism, trade, economic and humanitarian development, disease control, vaccinations, and the attitudes of the people of these 58 nations toward the United States and its citizens. This is a high crime subject to Impeachment.
8. President Donald John Trump has threatened the health and future of the United States by withdrawing from the Paris Agreement on Climate Change with no thought of the consequences to the people of the United States or the people of the other nations of the Earth. This is a High Crime and Misdemeanor.
9. President Donald J. Trump has committed a High Crime and Misdemeanor by his refusal or inability to tell the truth to the Congress, foreign leaders, the American and international press, and most specifically, the American people. Fact checking organizations have concluded that the president lies on average, six times per day for a total of over 2,000 lies in the less than one year he has been in office at the time this was written. This is quite likely an under count of his lies. This is a High Crime and Misdemeanor that warrants the President’s removal from office by Impeachment.
10. President Donald John Trump has precipitated, through reckless tweeting, taunting and other provocations, pushing the United States of America to the brink of nuclear war with the nation of North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea), with its own unstable president, Kim Jung Un, which in turn, has caused a massive acceleration of that nation’s Ballistic Missile program, caused North Korea to resume atmospheric nuclear weapons testing (2 nuclear explosions to date, including one purported by North Korea to be a Hydrogen fusion bomb), and the partial perfection of an ICBM capable of reaching the United States of America’s soil and cities. America must not be the nation to use the third nuclear weapon in war. It has been more than 72 years since the last nuclear weapon was used in war. Such provocation of an unstable dictator threatens the entire world with the thought of breaking this long period of no nuclear weapons use. This is a High Crime by the President of the United States of America, and warrants his removal from office by the method of Impeachment.
11. President Donald John Trump has damaged 70 year old relationships and treaties by weakening NATO, insulting our allies, specifically the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia and by abandoning our allies, these actions strengthen our adversaries China, Russia and others. In the case of France, he insulted our oldest allyThis is a High Crime and Misdemeanor, subject to removal by Impeachment.
12. President Donald John Trump has demeaned the solemn purpose of the State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress, the Supreme Court, the American People, the entire world, by choosing to make the speech a political fund raising opportunity. and as such, has performed a High Crime or Misdemeanor by behaving in a manner not becoming the President of the United States. This is a Misdemeanor subject removal from office by the constitutional process of Impeachment.
13. President Donald John Trump has Obstructed Justice on numerous occasions by the removal of federal office holders who were pursuing investigations into the presidential campaign’s ties to Russia and its interference into America’s elections and elections processes, starting with the dismissal of Acting Attorney General Sally Yates, who warned the President that National Security Adviser Michael Flynn was compromised by the Russian government and was subject to blackmail by the Russians. President Trump chose to dismiss Ms. Yates, and retain Mr. Flynn for 18 more days in the most sensitive national security post in our government. Each time an investigation or investigator gets close to President Donald John Trump or his family, the president reacts by dismissing or undermining the individuals involved. This includes US Attorney Preet Bahara, FBI Director James Comey, several high ranking FBI officials, and we are seeing massive and sustained efforts to undermine, discredit, pressure additional FBI and Justice Department officials as a means to discredit, derail and damage the reputations of those who are doing their duties to investigate the Russian election interference, illegal financial arrangements including money laundering, emoluments, obstruction of justice and potentially many other crimes. This constitutes a pattern of behavior leading to Obstruction of Justice and is a High Crime subject to removal from office by Impeachment.
14. President Donald John Trump has attempted, through political intimidation, denunciation, humiliation, compromising elected Representatives and Senators by threats and intimidation, through damaging our instruments of government, the State Department, the Justice Department, the American security agencies, FBI, CIA, NSA, Homeland Security, through these mechanisms, has and is attempting to make the American Presidency a despotic ruler, similar to the one we threw off in 1776, and this cannot stand. This constitutes a High Crime and Misdemeanor subject to removal from office by Impeachment.
Therefore, given that the President Donald John Trump has undermined the freedom of Americans, demeaned and diminished the rule of law, threatened the Constitution of the United States of America, weakened America, damaged our allies and international relationships, and embarrassed the People of the United States of America, and under our Constitution, all political power resides with the People, the People of the United States of America, through the powers we delegated to our Senators and Representatives under Article I of the Constitution demand that the House of Representatives prepare and approve Articles of Impeachment against President Donald John Trump. We further demand that the United States Senate try and convict President Donald John Trump of the charges and effect his removal from the office of President of the United States of America.
Diarist’s Note: The writing of this has exhausted me and I have not scratched the surface of Mr. Trump’s crimes against America. Please feel free to add more items in the comments below, and I will add them to the list if I can. I would like to match the 27 offenses that are listed in our Declaration of Independence, but if commenters can come up with more, so be it. Please be fact based, and include links where possible.
It is clear that President Trump is mentally ill, and that he should be in an institution or a place where he cannot damage more people and more lives. In a more perfect world, the people around him would take necessary action to remove him under the disability clause of the 25th Amendment, but this does not appear possible because he has selected additional weak people to fill his cabinet, and who are loyalists to Donald John Trump, not the Constitution, which each and every one of them have sworn (or affirmed) to defend from all threats, foreign and domestic. Given that this is true, the only alternatives that remain are Impeachment, or his resignation. The resignation of a mentally ill narcissist appears to be a very remote possibility. Therefore, it remains for Congress, those who remain loyal to their Oaths of Office and to the United States of America, must do their duty, no matter how painful it may be to them.
