Tom Steyer has presented himself as a staunchly anti-Trump billionaire who’s been using his money and influence to tell Americans that we need to impeach Trump. The latest action he’s done in the crusade to unseat the unpopular president involves Michael Wolff’s new and extremely controversial book, Fire and Fury.
In an interview on KQED, Steyer told co-host Scott Shafer:
Judging on the excerpts, we went out and bought 535 copies, and we're going to get citizen volunteers to deliver them to the office of every congressperson and senator. Because we believe, when we started this impeachment petition on October 20, we felt every subsequent day would bring information that would bolster our argument this was a dangerous, unfit president who needed to be removed from office. And from what I can tell, this book makes that case in very bold letters.
Steyer also recently announced he’ll be spending $30 million during the midterm election season to efforts to flip the House to a Democrat majority.
