Hard to believe what tobacco pushers will do to move their product, but loading E-cig vaping liquids with ED and other drugs wasn’t first on my mind. How long have we’ve been told “But these are safer than actual cigarette smoking?”
If your teen or young adult is vaping, do you know what chemicals are in the E-cig liquid? What form they take when turned into an inhalent? What happens when the lung gets the potential drugs for direct transmission to the blood stream?
Discovering these liquids were offered with pharmaceutical drugs for weight loss as well as ED meds has the FDA up in arms and doing surprise inspections, confiscating materials for advertising, and revealing more problems that are resulting in stern FDA warnings to the industry providers.
Seems to me the FDA should be landing hard on big pharma for allowing their by prescription only drugs to end up in the hands of vaping liquid providers. The custody chain needs to be retraced carefully in all parts of the globe. But will FDA actually try to pursue that? Will Trump seek that ability to retrace this type of product flowing into such illicit uses into the new trade deals?
In some cases drugs that are only legal in Europe or other nations are showing up, even after banned due to being found to cause serious side effects, sucy as depression. That may not be the end of this story. Keep an eye on this as it unfolds. Gosh, maybe government regulation is a good thing after all?
