When I was a kid there were a lot of rules. One that was never to be broken was to be sited at our kitchen table for dinner with the family at 5:30. After finishing dinner I was expected to stay and talk about my day. What I was thinking. How I was doing. No topic was off the table. You just couldn't say something that wasn't factual. There were thousands of books in the house, many reference, and if you said something that wasn't accurate a book would be introduced. I think it was one of the main reasons somebody from a family of Republicans could become a far left liberal.
In those conversations I was told/taught to be accepting.
That folks don't have to hold the same views as me to be a good person. It is why I can get along with the majority of my family members, many former co-workers, current clients, neighbors, and heck ladies I dated were nothing close to liberal. Sure if they said something not accurate like climate change isn't real I'd point out how what they thought was ill-informed and maybe they should reevaluate things.
But I never pounded them into the ground the way I could.
I've just lost all patience.
I could name many reasons why. At the top of the list is an ongoing conversation I have with a neighbor. They have about the largest house in town. A pool. A pool house larger than some studio apartments I've called home. A $100,000+ RV.
Trump is the shit they tell me because they now pay less in taxes. All liberals are bad. I was like I don't force my views down the throat of others, would it surprise you I am a far, far left liberal? Why would paying a little more in taxes hurt. No intelligent response.
Or my cousin. She was 7 months pregnant and dropped to the floor. Not breathing for 7 minutes. She lived as did her unborn child. Many medical bills. Helicopter involved. She opened up to me that she was getting a ton of government aid.
I told my cousin how happy I was she was getting the help and aid she needed. I went to politics. Don't normally do with folks I know are not of my leaning. That I am a person fighting for her and people like her that needed help. Don't you see that?
She started talking to me about how great Trump was.
So the glove are off. Not polite anymore. I will call BS. ;
