Lindsey Graham, a man who once defended the integrity of our courts over all else, is working his hardest to shove Brett Kavanaugh onto the Supreme Court, despite clear evidence that he has perjured himself over issues large and small. Kavanugh has lied about everything from the Senate Judiciary Committee about his role in receiving stolen Senate emails to hiding his work to nominate controversial federal judges during the Bush administration to lying about his drinking habits and yearbook references. As former FBI Director James Comey said earlier this week, “small lies matter, even about yearboooks.”
Lying used to be a disqualifying characteristic for public office according to then Congressman Lindsey Graham. Here he is making the case to impeach Bill Clinton based on a perjury charge.
Bless his heart.
In the meantime, can you kick in $3 here to help Democrats win up and down the ballot this November?
And if perjury weren’t disqualifying for the Supreme Court (it is), how about Brett Kavanaugh’s conspiracy-filled, anti-Clinton rant and his quick temper flaring up? He barked at members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, most notably to Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) when she inquired about his drinking habits. Well, here’s Senator Lindsey Graham in 2009 smugly questioning Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s fitness for the Supreme Court based on reports that she was “difficult.” Watch this segment and ask yourself what has changed for Lindsey Graham? Because that man is gone and all we have left of his integrity are these ghost-like clips of a man long faded away.
The man who cared so much about the temperament of Supreme Court Justices is now a hyperpartisan raving lunatic. The South Carolina state slogan is “While I breath, I hope.” Whatever happens in 2020, let’s all hope a legitimate contender emerges in South Carolina to challenge Lindsey Graham. He deserves it and the people of South Carolina, especially the women of the South Carolina deserve better representation.
