The FBI has restricted the supposedly unrestricted expanded background check into sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
According to NBC, that's because the White House is still drawing the parameters for the investigation.
Additionally, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is still insisting that the voting starts this week, and he could possibly begin the process even before the FBI report is done. He is also says that the report will only be made available to senators and not the public, despite calls for it to be released.
Democratic leader Sen. Chuck Schumer has demands in return: that the White House release its statement directing the FBI in this expanded review, that there be an all-senators briefing with the FBI after the report is complete and 24 hours before McConnell files a cloture vote, and that the FBI make the report public.
It's time to shut Mitch McConnell and the Republicans down. Please help with $3 to our Senate candidates.
