After reading about a hack on Google+ I figured to protect myself I’d delete my entire Google account. I didn’t realize this would also delete my blog which is hosted by Blogger (a Google service). I use the blog to link to my Daily Kos articles and put a few other links to a few online stories of interest that some people may miss. Mostly only people who know me personally, IRL in webspeak, look at the blog. (The blog is back online.)
I thought that accidentally deleting the blog might be a sign that my arteries were sending me a message via my brain to de-Trump myself considering my blood pressure has gone from 140/84 controlled by a simple diuretic (water pill) to 170/90 over a mere three months.
Now I am worried about having a coronary or, worse, a debilitating stroke before the November elections.
In 30 days:
- I want to live to see the Democrats win Congress.
In the next year:
- I want the House (and Senate if we win it) committees reopen all the investigations the Republicans used to coverup Trump and his minion’s crimes.
- I want to live to see Mueller send more people to prison.
- I want to see Trump’s “no collusion” claim go down as the biggest lie in American history.
In the long term:
- I want to live to see the country turn around and Trump go down in ignominious history as the president who almost turned America into the sum of our worst fears, a white nationalist male-dominated brutal totalitarian state.
Then I think I’ll be ready to die.
Meanwhile, I am waiting to hear from my doctor about changing medications. He is as anti-Trump as I am. When Dr. M saw me last week and noted my increased BP he told me to monitor my blood pressure and avoid obsessing about Trump. Then he engaged me in 10 minutes of lamenting the state of the country under Trump.
This morning I decided not to watch MSNBC and randomly put a NetFlix Joe Rogan comedy on. He started out with an obscenity-laced anti-Trump rant. At least, unlike the MSNBC talkers, he throws around profanities like confetti-canon at a rock concert.
Maybe if my MSNBC “friends” cursed more I’d feel better. Steve Schmidt with his unfiltered on-air rage, albeit curse-word free, makes me feel the best. I suspect off-camera he drops a few f-bombs.
Speaking of that, if you watched Lawrence O’Donnell last night you would have seen Nadya Tolokno (Nadezhda Andreyevna Tolokonnikova) lead singer of Pussy Riot drop the f-bomb. I think she said it so fast it went right by Lawrence.
My doctor wants me to exorcize Trump from my brain and start exercising my body. I know this is excellent advice. However, I have become a slug over the past year of Trump and find I am so out of shape that I get winded walking the equivalent of three books to the coffee shop.
Here I am violating doctor's orders.
Call it expressive writing therapy, which actually is a real thing.
