Donald Trump Jr. is the watered-down version of Donald Trump, who is the watered-down version of a cartoon billionaire. According to the Washington Post, Junior is bopping about, handling the corrupt job of managing the Trump family business. Recently, that “work” took him to India. For his time out and about, ostensibly selling Trump “luxury condos,” the Post estimates the cost to you and me—the taxpayers—to be somewhere upwards of $97,000.
The Department of Homeland Security, responding to a Freedom of Information request, released 47 pages of purchase orders, requisition forms and planning work sheets showing that Trump Jr.’s February trip cost more than $97,805 for hotel rooms, airfare, car rental and overtime for Secret Service agents. The costs were incurred on a February tour of four Indian cities — New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata — where the Trump family has licensed its name to luxury high-rise projects.
While there, Junior had a meeting with India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, among other things. The Trump organization boasted that it made around $100,000,000 by selling its condos during the trip.
See? All we taxpayers had to spend was $100,000, and Donald Trump got himself like 1,000 times as much! Win-win … for corruption! This seems to be the going cost to Americans to send Trump’s kids to other countries to leverage their father’s position as THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA to make him and themselves lots of money.
