The students, turned survivors, turned activists of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, are some of the most amazing and hard-working young people in this country. In between their work on today’s #WalkoutToVote initiative and all the other stuff average (and exceptional) teenagers deal with from day to day, the brave young folks managed to unite as a school and use their diverse talents and emotions to create a moving music video that not only pays tribute to those they lost, but also implores us all to vote.
Faced with tragedy that shattered what innocence was left after a lifetime of active shooter drills and a ceaseless trend of school shootings, these students have transformed the conversation around gun violence, in hallowed halls of learning and beyond.

From the March for Our Lives to their voting drives and 🔥🔥🔥 social media game, these young people responded to tragedy in ways that continue to amaze and inspire adults around them.
These lyrics punched me in the gut, I cannot lie, and gave me my first ugly cry of Election Day 2018.
We love you we miss you we will not forget you
We love you we miss you we will not forget you
We’ll put this puzzle back together
We’ll carry you on, we’ll carry you on
We’ll make your picture last forever
We’ll carry you on, we’ll carry you on
Let’s help them put the puzzle back together, y’all. It starts with voting, which means it starts with you, and it starts today.
