The Governor’s race in Georgia between Stacey Abrams and Brian Kemp is shaping up to be one of the most blatant examples of the stealing of elections by the GOP, as reported by many experts and media outlets. Extensive voter suppression over the years and continued use of tactics to deny votes to the Democratic candidate, is purported to have given Kemp a slight lead and he has declared victory while many votes still remain to be counted.
This is a major story. Let’s do all we can to help.
Let’s count the number of ways Brian Kemp has tried to steal the election in Georgia.
Disenfranchisement and voter purging
Long Lines
Voting Machine Suppression
Shutting down Polling Places
Private Use of Voting Data
Suppressing Provisional Ballot Data
Good Old-fashioned GOP Fear-Mongering and Racism
Declaring victory on his own
Doxxing (Publishing) Absentee Voter Private Info
This will tend to discourage absentee voting in the future.
Misuse of SOS Office while Running as a Candidate
He should have recused himself from the SoS role.
Opening an Illegitimate Investigation into his opponent days before the election -
Refusing to improve election systems and software security
The Stacey Abrams campaign is doing its best to counter Kemp’s tactics and make sure that all votes are found and counted. Abrams has not conceded.
Brian Kemp's lead is dropping and was at 50.36% yesterday. If he falls below 50% the state will have an automatic runoff in 30 days.
