This picture, which I found in our Pastor's 'Rector's Notes' weekly email today, places Mary and Joseph and the 'No room at the Inn' story. in a contemporary setting. To me it shows that the story of Christmas, or 'Christ's Mass,' is timeless.
A little scripture from the Hebrew Bible that puts the lie to ignoring compassion for the vulnerable and poor while favoring the rich:
Ezekiel 34: 15 I myself will be will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will make them them lie down, says the Lord God. 16 I will seek the lost and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, but the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them with justice.
