Campaign Action
As the White House contemplates release of Rep. Devin Nunes' sham memo, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has sent a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan urging him to remove Nunes from his post as chair of the House Intelligence Committee. Reuters writes:
"It has now come to our attention that Congressman (Devin) Nunes deliberately and materially altered the contents of the memo since it was voted on by the House Republicans," Pelosi said in a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan. "This action is not only dangerous, it is illegitimate, and violates House rules."
Any decision to remove Nunes would be one for Ryan to make. The committee had agreed to release the memo, which alleges bias against President Donald Trump at the FBI, in a move supported by Ryan.
Ryan has routinely shielded Nunes and sided with him over the objections of the Justice Department and the FBI. Pelosi wants to make sure people know it and that he has the power to remove Nunes in order to protect the integrity of the House Intelligence Committee.
This is exactly the type of pressure Democrats should be applying to GOP leadership, which has routinely shrunk from the responsibility of reining in Donald Trump as well as his lackeys inside the government.

UPDATE: Sen. Chuck Schumer also calling on Paul Ryan to remove Nunes from his post.
Schumer sent a letter to House Speaker
Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) questioning why he hasn't reined in Nunes, who compiled the GOP memo, and if he or any member of House GOP leadership consulted Nunes, or helped plan or draft the memo.
"I urge to answer the preceding questions; remove Chairman Nunes from the [House Intelligence Committee; withdraw support for the release of the ... memo," Schumer wrote.
Democrats working diligently to tie the Nunes debacle to Ryan.
