Slapstick humor… you either love it or hate it. I was raised on it growing up watching The Three Stooges, Mel Brooks, and others.
Some famous physical comedians are experts at the art of the pratfall while other slapstick comedians generate laughs from flailing movements. I use to get into arguments with my mom about her lack of appreciation of the quality of The Three Stooges humor.
For me the best slapstick comedian (also writer,, director, etc) is the author of the quote
“Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die.”
Yes…. Mel Brooks.
