Very brief diary just to get the conversation started. John Mattes from the Sanders campaign and Phillippe Reines from the Clinton campaign were on to talk about Sanders’s initial deflection of the post-indictment questions about Russian interference in the presidential election and who’s at fault.
I’m going to find some of the articles cited in the segment and read them. Right now I’m just delivering initial impressions:
What a load of smelly, rotten pie.
Reines came across as a sullen jackass. If he had posted like that here, I’d have busted him sideways for his whining and his bullshit. Mattes came across as the adult in the room, more or less, though he gets no medals from me.
The whole point of this diary for me is the reaction I had from watching this pie fight — and that’s exactly what it was — from the outside.
Fucking revolting.
Put down the knives, everyone, and turn to face the common foe. He’s out there. He’s orange, nasty and he wants to finish what he and Putin started in 2016.
Sanders yesterday:
Mueller's indictment provides further evidence that the Russian government interfered in 2016. It also shows that they tried to turn my supporters against Hillary Clinton in the primary and general election. I unequivocally condemn such interference.
Sanders last week:
It has been clear to everyone (except Donald Trump) that Russia was deeply involved in the 2016 elections and intends to be involved in the 2018 elections. It is the American people who should be deciding the political future of our country, not Mr. Putin and the Russian oligarch. … It is absolutely imperative that the Mueller investigation be allowed to go forward without obstruction from the Trump administration or Congress.
I don’t care what he said before, or what bullshit Jeff Weaver is apparently slinging about the Mueller investigation. Sanders is moving in the right direction with this.
Can we not continue the pie fight in this diary? Pretty fucking please?!?
