And what's really crazy is that this title is not clickbait, it's a statement of fact.
Today's Republican party is as much "organized crime" as the Gambino family or their favorite boogeymen, MS-13. They are monied and "connected" hoods that if you're in their way will "male you an offer you can't refuse." They are a vicious and deadly street gang and their turf is not just Wall Street but every backwater of America where hate, paranoia and fear hold sway. If you resist them, they will kill you. They will exert every effort within their reach to crush you, to not only make you "go away" but to destroy your friends, your families, every principle and value you hold dear until they have ground you into the dirt. And if you do not resist them, they will kill you anyway, because they just don't care. If you're not a contributor to their pocket-books or a vote to keep them in power, then you're a problem that needs to be got rid of. If you do appear to be on their side, don't make the mistake of thinking they value you. You're just a resource and once they've used you up you'll end up in the same grave as all the folks they taught you to fear and hate, with one of their connected buddies taking everything you sweated and worked for, stealing it out from under the noses of the family you thought you were providing for. The fat cats will buy what you made off your family with your families own money before your body is cold and they will leave your family with nothing.
Sleazy politicians have always made laws to benefit their cronies. Rich shitheads have always deluded themselves that they can buy a "get out of jail free" card whenever they want to and been so surprised when they got caught and if they were able to avoid time behind bars were "disgraced" and forever excluded from any future in politics or "influential society"
Today's GOP is different. If they can't win elections cleanly, they'll draw the districts to guarantee the result they want. They'll make sure that folks who don't like them can't vote. They'll install a rabid Nazi in the Oval Office and then say NOTHING, letting him be a living dog-whistle to the "useful idiots" who will take up their AR-15s and "go shoot a librul or a nigger or a faggot"
It's time we called a spade a spade. Republicans are criminals. The GOP is no different from a drug gang or a mafia family. They are organized crime. Put them away or put them down. Or American Democracy is finished. Over half a century later, there is still unhealed scar tissue in Germany. The same infection is raging through the veins of the US body politic. You've got one bastard of a fight on your hands but you better take it on, because if you don't you're done.
