Hey friends — so many of you know, I keep advocating solution oriented approaches to fixing things, instead of focusing on blaming the idiot in charge. Thus for me, Unrig the System Summit was really exciting, hopeful and like satisfying rather than stressful — a ton of folks there trying to address root causes at local and national levels. Nina Turner of OurRevolution was one of the keynotes, and the closer. There is definitely a place for blame and finger pointing and avoiding false equivalencies, so some of it might have been hard to stomach, but there was also a lot of power in bringing folks together.
Actually seeing this conservative republican from Tenneessee, Zach Wamp, on stage and mad as hell at Trump and co, in a coalition with Tulsi Gabbard, Nina and others (issueone.org) for stopping corruption — that was cool. Also a lot of clever innovative tech that I think may work in interesting ways.
Anyway, I wrote it up on Medium, where I’m trying to talk to moderates nowadays, link here
The Jazz Fix: a riff-off of solutions to political corruption and gridlock
I also met this really neat state legislator candidate Salina Vickers from West Virginia with a personal story from the inauguration, I’m going to write that up for dailyKos as soon as get a few more quotes from her.
