Received this e-mail from U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D. NJ) in support of his colleague, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin’s (D. WI) re-election campaign:
Last Saturday I was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to open a new headquarters for one of America's greatest public servants: My friend and colleague, Tammy Baldwin.
I stopped by Madison the day after, to talk to my grassroots friends about Tammy and her campaign. I told the folks in Wisconsin the same thing I'll tell you right now: Elections are determined by what happens in the grassroots.
That means you.
Special interests are so desperate to defeat her, they're willing to spend millions upon millions of dollars in this race.
If we want to keep her in office, we need to step up. The grassroots is where we find the power to fight back against Super PACs and whatever special interests come after Tammy.
The very first FEC fundraising quarter of the Election Year ends at the end of this month, and Tammy has set an ambitious goal: $100,000. Can you help her get there by giving $10?
What we do today — whether we help Tammy hit this goal or not — will have serious repercussions down the line.
Campaigns need things. Gas for travel. Food for volunteers. Walk lists for canvassers. Yard signs and mailers. Office space and telephone lines.
The more Super PACs spend against you, the more of those things you need to buy. And Tammy is facing more of that spending than any other Democratic Senator up for reelection.
I'm ready to help in any way I can. That's why I went out to Wisconsin. That's why I'm reaching out to you today.
Let's make sure Tammy's campaign is as strong as it can possibly be. Give what you can, whatever amount that is, toward her $100,000 FEC goal.
Thank you for supporting Tammy today.
Cory
