As expected, the House Intelligence Committee, the ironically named group of yes-men and grifters, announced that it had found no evidence of collusion or coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian agents who interfered with the 2016 campaign. Their investigation was a joke from the start, as it was led by California GOP Rep. Devin Nunes, who might as well be a registered agent of the Russian government.
Nunes is in all kinds of trouble both in DC and back home, where he’s facing a strong challenge from a Democrat named Andrew Janz. The prosecutor has run an energetic campaign since last year, and has had no problem taunting Nunes over and over again, with billboards and social media mockery. That tactic continued tonight, with this devastating tweet:
Janz has held rallies outside Nunes’ offices, published editorials in local papers (he called Nunes "Trump's stooge" in a recent one) and has been touring California’s 22nd district aggressively, raising lots of money from small donors both locally and around the country.
Still, he needs all the help he can get, so donate to Andrew Janz using Progressives Everywhere’s ActBlue page for him (or donate to our entire slate of progressive Democratic candidates here!)
Here’s his official statement on the disgraceful news:
