Donald Trump is mulling an offer from Vladimir Putin to loan the United States the services of Yury Yakovlevich Chaika, the current Prosecutor General of Russia, according to unnamed sources at the White House. Chaika would be appointed “Special Prosecutor General Plenipoteniary,” a new cabinet position answering directly to the President.
Frustrated by his inability to compel the Attorney General to fire Robert Mueller, Trump called Putin on Sunday, and Putin suggested that Chaika would quickly be able to get to the bottom of the Russia investigation. Trump explained why:
Mueller had the nerve to ask me questions about the Trump Tower meeting, which I DID NOT EVEN ATTEND. Asked me who Rob Goldstone meant when he said that the “Crown Prosecutor of Russia” set it up to “provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary...” Who could solve mystery of this “Crown Prosecutor” better than a “Prosecutor General”!? NO COLLUSION!
According to White House spokesman Raj Shah, while serving under Trump, Chaika will not even need to be paid. Instead, he only asked to be given a Kushner-style special security clearance, and access to the Special Counsel’s motor pool.
President Putin could not be reached for comment, but a through a spokesman confirmed the loan, and gave President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence a clear vote of confidence:
“We have no plans to remove Donald Trump at this time, and he and his team enjoy the Kremlin’s full support.”
