Move over Sam Nunberg. There’s a new wacko interview subject in town and his name is Randy Credico.
MSNBC’s Ari Melber scored a coup by having NYC talk show host and FOJ/FOR (Friend of Julian Assange and Roger Stone) Randy Credico on his show, The Beat, tonight.
Here it is:
Everything about this interview was bizarre:
- Credico’s show is on WBAI — New York’s listener sponsored and very left leaning radio station (at least the last time I paid attention years ago). Why is he on it? Where’s Steve Post?
- Maybe Credico’s on BAI because he seems to be one of those “so far left he’s right” types.
- Melber is an excellent interviewer who adroitly uses his lawyer skills. He politely and patiently made the squirming Credico admit Stone was lying when he said Credico was an intermediary between Stone and Assange. (Unless of course, Credico is lying and was the go-between.)
MELBER: On August 8, you have Stone saying that he communicated with Assange and that a torrent of Clinton email documents would come out in this so-called "October surprise." That's August 8, are you saying by referencing his timeline, that that's not something Stone would have gotten from you at that time?
CREDICO: You know what? You're going to do a Tricky Dick Richard Nixon on me, I'm going to come right back and do some impressions with you.
MELBER: I know you do impressions.
CREDICO: Are you buying time or are you telling me that that's a lie
- Credico then launched into Nixon, followed by Bernie and Jack Nicholson. (good, good, bad).
- This was not your typical Gish Gallop filibuster to eat up the interview; Melber pressed on, politely, and pinned down the slippery Credico.
- Credico said Assange was a great “journalist,” comparing him to martyred abolitionist, Elijah Lovejoy.
Don’t miss this. Melber is a real talent, who deserves to move up to at least Tweety’s 7:00 spot. And tonight he had the perfect foil.
