As Obama’s former speechwriter Jon Favreau just tweeted, this is very fishy. From Politico:
Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee voted down a Democratic proposal to hold a hearing with Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and other tech CEOs, according to the panel's ranking member, Adam Schiff.
The Democratic effort came amid a firestorm over revelations that Trump-linked Cambridge Analytica improperly obtained information on some 50 million Facebook users.
Schiff, however, said House Intel Democrats are finalizing plans for an interview with Christopher Wylie, the whistleblower in the Cambridge Analytica case.
Spokespeople for House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes and the panel's top Russia investigator Mike Conaway didn't immediately respond to a request for comment

Gee, I wonder why the Republicans might want to shield Zuckerberg and his powerful social media company. Maybe because Facebook is looking more and more complicit in the Trump-Russia scandal.
Remember, we were recently told that Cambridge Analytica “improperly accessed” the data from a research project that involved some 50 million American users of the platform. Now it turns out that the Facebook research project itself was led by someone with deep ties to Russia and the Kremlin.
Preventing testimony from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is a patently obvious instance of Obstruction of Justice. Go get ‘em, Mr. Mueller!
