Trump threatens veto, government shutdown because Fox & Friends trashed the spending bill

After a long night of pointless and petty drama which finally ended in the omnibus spending bill passing in the Senate, ensuring that the government doesn’t shut down tonight at midnight, the nation wakes up to this:

I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded.

Just a reminder of Trump’s position as of Thursday.

Got $1.6 Billion to start Wall on Southern Border, rest will be forthcoming. Most importantly, got $700 Billion to rebuild our Military, $716 Billion next year...most ever. Had to waste money on Dem giveaways in order to take care of military pay increase and new equipment.

In fact, after House Speaker Paul Ryan met with Trump yesterday he was certain Trump was on board. "There's no two ways about it," Ryan told reporters. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that the "president and the leaders discussed their support for the bill," in that meeting, and a "White House official later added that Trump 'intends to sign the bill,' calling it a 'step in the right direction.'"

And now, Politico reporter Jake Sherman says "People close to the White House believe this veto threat is very real." So why the change of heart? You got it. He heard on Fox & Friends that "this is a swamp budget, this is a Mitch McConnell special," and is horrible because "no wall."

Asked about the president’s tweet on Friday, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said in a statement: “The tweet stands for itself.”
