Campaign Action
Yesterday we learned that Fox News host Sean Hannity, who had been using his network show to repeatedly condemn the raid on Trump lawyer Michael Cohen as a "witch hunt," a "runaway train," and something close to Naziism, somehow failed to mention that he was himself one of Michael Cohen's only three clients and, therefore, one of the people whose interactions with Cohen were likely seized in that federal raid. That he was, himself, someone who may have been recorded by Cohen in his audiotapes and who at the least used the services of Donald Trump's hush money-providing "fixer" for still-mysterious legal advice on a still-mysterious subject.
In the most predictable news of the year, Fox News higher-ups have now "reviewed" the matter and by gum, they can't see any problem with that!
While FOX News was unaware of Sean Hannity's informal relationship with Michael Cohen and was surprised by the announcement in court yesterday, we have reviewed the matter and spoken to Sean and he continues to have our full support.
Hannity even hid his relationship with Cohen from Fox News itself, both when hosting Cohen on his network show and when spending the better part of last week having a multi-broadcast fit over the impropriety of it all, and still Fox can't find a thing wrong with ethics of Mr. Shoutyhead.
That about sums things up at the “Fair and Balanced” network. They've lost a series of top hosts of late, have yet another one whose advertisers are dropping like flies, and even if Sean Hannity wasn't a top moneymaker at the network they're still probably shuddering at the thought of how deep they'd have to dig to find anyone to replace the top star. So the network has ruled: Sean Hannity can continue to do whatever he wants, until the exact moment defending him becomes impossible even for them, and this ain't that moment.
Yet.
