Continuing on in the series from Last Night and Two Nights ago today I ask you go list your third favorite LP of all time.
Mine is Getz/Gilberto an album by sax master Stan Getz and British guitarist Gilberto composed by Tom Jobim. It came out in 1964 and contains one of my favorite Jazz songs of all time… knocked out of the part by Gilberto...The Girl From Ipanema. The song had been done by others but none has the power of the song in this LP. There were 7 other classic Brazilian Jazz songs and won many cross-over awards, often the first time a Jazz album had done so.
The LP was responsible for making bossa nova known/popular worldwide, and was one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time.
Ok enough of me talking...on with the tunes
