I live in a part of the country that tends to experience what most people would consider to be harsh winters. On average, we get a bit more than 100 inches of snow every year, and it’s not unusual for temperatures to drop below zero for a few days. By such measures, this last winter has been pretty typical, in fact almost mild compared with some of the winters we’ve lived through in the past.
But when you’re past the middle of April and you wake up to the sight like the one above, you can’t be blamed for losing your mind.
For the sake of a paycheck, I have inured myself to the winters here. I’m not crazy about it, but it’s tolerable. But, damn it, once the winter is over, the snow needs to STOP! The daffodils are on just on the verge of blooming. We’d all like to launder our sweaters and the down comforter and put these things away for 6 months. The wonder of a snow-covered landscape disappeared sometime in early January. ENOUGH, already!
But according to the forecast, we’re getting still more snow tomorrow.
