Susan B. Anthony declared “There never will be complete equality until women themselves help to make laws and elect lawmakers.” That was almost a hundred years ago, when women were fighting to get the right to vote. Today, men, mainly White Republican Men, still pass the laws which directly impact the lives, rules of the marketplace, and unfortunately health care options/decisions of women and our families.
In Texas, as in most of the rest of the nation, women are angry and are actively turning Resistance into Votes. This year, in Texas, there are Democratic Nominees challenging for every seat in the Texas Congressional delegation. No Republican will get a free ride back to Washington.
Here is the list of women who are challenging for seats. (There are three female incumbents. Democrats Eddie Bernice Johnson and Sheila Jackson Lee and Republican Kay Granger who are omitted from this list because they are incumbents — not challengers.)
