Update: This seems to be another sad story about a country where too many people have too many guns and too many people decide to settle arguments with weapons rather than words. On a day when nine high school students and a beloved teacher were murdered in Texas, it was understandable that yet another shooting — near a high school — resulted in a lot of coverage, much of which has now been corrected and clarified. I refuse to minimize the death of even one person by gun violence — even one death is one too many. But this is not, in fact, a story about a school shooting and I have removed that inaccurate tag. I weep for the nearly 100 people who were likely killed by guns today in America, including those who died tonight in Clayton County. There are too many broken hearts in this country. And those politicians offering “thoughts and prayers” without ACTION to end this carnage should be called out for their refusal to DO SOMETHING to end it. Let us all do everything we can between now and November to end their political careers. Permanently.

NOTE: I have been following the news about this shooting on multiple sites and the news is conflicting. Please read the updates.
Second NOTE: I have removed the #SchoolShooting tag because I did not think it was appropriate. This shooting was horrifying, but I do not believe it appropriate to call it a school shooting. We are all on edge after the horrifying events today in Texas.
Third NOTE: This was not a school shooting. It was another sad night in America, where too many people have too many guns.
