A fifth grader had words for Donald Trump regarding his dehumanizing rant conflating the undocumented immigrant population with dangerous gang members—and she didn’t hold back one bit.
The girl, a U.S. citizen, said her dad was deported six years ago after a traffic stop. “I miss my dad. My mom has worked so hard to provide for us,” saying that there are millions of other kids who also “live in fear of losing” their undocumented parents. But, she’s also standing up for her community.
“The president says Mexican immigrants are ‘animals.’ We are not animals,” the 11 year old said in a video from a Poor People’s Campaign/Fight for $15 action earlier this week. “But if I was, I would be black panther, fighting [against] racism and inequality.”
“Do you think God loves rich people more than poor people? Do you think God loves white more than people of color? The answer is, hell no!” The young people, led by DACA recipients, the students fighting for their lives, and this young girl, truly are fighting for justice and they are truly fearless.
