Donald Trump golfs a lot. The White House does not want you to know this. Trump vowed he wouldn’t do it, and he spent years attacking former President Obama for golfing occasionally. But for all those attacks, and the White House’s efforts to hide Trump’s golfing from the public eye, ABC News counts that Trump has played 102 rounds over 493 days in office—more than once a week, if you do the math. Though Trump’s staff won’t admit that’s what he’s been doing, those are days when he visited a golf course (always one of his own) and “enjoyed weather ideal for golf and has spent at least 4 hours on the grounds—long enough to complete 18 holes.”
It took Obama three and a half years to hit the 102-rounds mark.
Obama golfed his 102nd round at Fort Belvoir, Virginia on July 15, 2012 -– his 1,273rd day in office.
Sunday, June 3 marks Trump’s 500th day in office. At this stage of his presidency, Obama had completed 37 rounds of golf.
Trump tweeted about Obama golfing on 24 separate occasions (check some of them out below). Which is a lot, although less than Trump himself golfs.
(Trump has spent all or part of 159 days at one of his own properties in the less than 500 days he’s been in office.)
