It was one year ago on this day that “Crazy/Stupid Republican of the Day” had its original profile to discuss Robert Fisher, a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives who we rushed into the front of our queue of loons after Fisher was outed in an investigation by The Daily Beast as having a variety of internet sock puppet accounts, perhaps the most inflammatory being “pk_Atheist”, the creator of “The Red Pill”, a Men’s Rights’ Activist forum on Reddit that advocates a pro-rape agenda. And we’re not saying this is some scenario where Fisher created it, and trolls came along and took things to a dark place… he himself frequently posted about women being able to lie about rape to get men thrown in prison (and a paranoid fear this would happen to him), taping sexual encounters as evidence that it was not rape (with or without a woman’s consent), women’s “sub-par intelligence”, tips on “negging” (a pick-up-artist tactic where a man gives backhanded compliments calculated to undermine confidence and make a woman more vulnerable to advances), how to “spin plates” (balance sleeping with several women at once), argued against statutory rape and age of consent laws because they supposedly gave the sexes unequal treatment, posted tips on how to engage in post-rape text messages with victims to get them to say they enjoyed themselves to use as evidence in court in case one was ever accused, and argued in defense of the rapists in the Steubenville, Ohio case. Some of the horrifying mentality of this douchebag:
- ”If you took the conversation skills, the sub-par intelligence, the lack of curiosity and put it in a man’s body- would you hang out with that guy? No! Would he be successful? Hell no! Those things are useless without a woman’s body attached. And so there’s where I make my decision. It is literally the body that makes enduring these things worth it.“
- ”Ask any 18 year old girl something about science, ask her what she thinks about philosophy. Get in a conversation about politics. You probably won’t get much.“
- ”I find women’s personalities in general to be lackluster and boring, serving little purpose in my day to day life. So I usually only compare body types.“
- ”Feminism pushes to increase alimony and child support. In the USA where feminism is completely unchecked, women can meet another man and profit from having two providers instead of one. Alimony and child support will ensure her lifestyle isn’t the one that suffers. The only risk a woman has for leaving her husband is if she’s too old and ugly to hook another guy. But even then, the amount of money she can get from her ex-husband is almost criminal. “
- ”How many women have “friend-zoned” guys? How many women will ask for free drinks and then blow guys off? How many women will flake on a date without even thinking about it (or calling)? Women will do what they want. They will do what ever fits their fancy. They just plainly do not give a s***! And that’s what we’re trying to drive home. We’re not using women. In fact, we’re rebelling against the fact that women use us! “
- ”Women have absolutely done this to themselves. I feel zero regret or shame pumping and dumping.”
- “I spin a soft harem.” (A“soft harem” is a pool of women kept around for sexual use who are mostly unaware of each other.)
- "The entirety of the male experience is wrought with rejection and ego-destroying experiences.”
- “I’m going to say it—Rape isn’t an absolute bad, because the rapist I think probably likes it a lot. I think he’d say it’s quite good, really.”
- ”A 40-year-old man asking to see the breasts of a 15-year-old wasn’t creepy. It was evolutionarily advantageous and perfectly natural.”
Among some of the Red Pill’s more famous forum posters included New Hampshire Joshua Youssef (who we’ll be discussing some other time), and some other Alt-Right creep you may have heard of named Milo Yiannopoulous. While campaigning for state legislature in 2014, Fisher actually admitted to “lurking” on Men’s Rights forums, and started a thread as himself to discuss a supposed plague of false rape accusations. But that was forgotten about until The Daily Beast’s Bonnie Bacarrisse (great piece of real journalism, truly).
At first, Robert Fisher tried logging in and deleting all his Reddit threads and his sock-puppet accounts, but Bacarrisse thought ahead and archived and screen-capped Fisher’s work for posterity prior to publishing. So, instead, even while New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu was calling on Fisher to resign in April of 2017, but Fisher insisted he’d be staying in office. After giving the classic bulls*** GOP excuse that he’d been “taken out of context”, he gave a statement that seemed to indicate he was digging in on being a misogynistic motherf***er:
“Here’s my message to the public: I am not disappearing. I will continue to stand strong for men’s rights and the rights of all, and I intend on introducing new legislation in 2018 to push back in the New Hampshire courts and finally bring relief for New Hampshire parents and citizens who face these very real but under-reported issues.”
This was beyond Todd Akin and legitimate rape. This is a Republican hosting a forum giving out tips on how to avoid being accused of doing it. At this point, we really don’t feel like there’s anything that could be as disgusting as what we’ve already posted about Fisher’s voting record, but we’ll note that he only shows up to vote as a legislator but half the time, but he did to vote against a ban on gay conversion therapy on minors. We are now in an age where there are literally factions of pro-rape Men’s Rights Activists elected by the Republican Party.
We are thrilled to report that a few weeks after we posted our profile of Robert Fisher, that he finally did resign in disgrace, rather than face disciplinary action for his online activities and the threat of perjury charges for lying about his ties to “The Red Pill” (please note, 6 Republicans on the panel that voted decided spreading pro-rape philosophy online warranted no punishment for a legislator).
If you aren’t disgusted by what the Republican Party has become, well, you’re probably a registered member who’s drinking the Kool-Aid.
