riverlover graced DKos as well as other sites for many years. There may be many here who remember her. She had a very deep and warm appreciation of nature and humanity, and a very unique voice which she expressed with great humour and insight.
The photo above was taken for riverlover by eyo, from a bridge overlooking the Russian River on the morning after the announcement of riverlover’s death …
Here is a tribute from the caucus99percent community.
In one deeply heartfelt comment a poster references riverlover’s last comment on DKos, and writes the following …
“Often when someone passes I quote some of their writing. In this case I'd only to look back at her last comment.”
My husband’s body was cremated, he had mentioned years before that he wanted his cremains scattered over big water. It took me 4 years to consider. I scattered some at every corner of our house that he designed, marking it his. The remainder (a bag of sugar, but not) was released privately off our dock, me and the dog. The cremains acted like latex paint being diluted and swirled and boiled and went off toward the main channel which leads to the Atlantic. So his spirit lives there now and in the stars. The whole release was very magical for me, and I almost heard his voice saying “finally” and the cremains cavorting away.
“Now I understand her username better. I hope someone gives her as good a send off as she gave her husband.
Sleep well River Lover.”
I welcome all your reflections of riverlover.
