Welcome to an ongoing diary series dedicated to making sure the #BlueWave happens in every single state this November! There is a big focus every election on House and Senate races and they are super important, but with Washington gridlocked the states are the ones making the most policy for Americans. Each diary will give you everything you need to know for November in that particular state, so be sure to bookmark it and share it with friends/family!
First step is making sure you’re registered to vote:
-
REGISTER AND PLEDGE TO VOTE: https://iwillvote.com
-
Are you having problems registering to vote or know other people with problems voting (transportation, bureaucratic, time or monetary reasons)? Go here, they’ll do whatever it takes to make sure you’re able to vote:https://www.spreadthevote.org
-
Do you or someone you know have trouble moving around and need a ride to the polls? Can you volunteer to drive voters? Go here: https://carpoolvote.com
-
Are you outside of the United States, but want to vote? Go here:https://www.overseasvotefoundation.org/vote/home.htm
-
GET EVERYONE YOU KNOW REGISTERED TO VOTE (I mean everyone, your neighbors, your schools, your church, your friends, your family, your local clubs/groups that you’re a member of, your apartment building, EVERYONE!)
After that it’s time to help get involved (if you want to volunteer for a campaign bring a friend or friends too, having a group makes it more fun!)
Looking for Special or Local Elections to get involved in before November? Check out the 2018 Special and Local Elections Calendar so you’ll never miss a race again! This post will be updated whenever new information is found. This is the 2nd diary in a 50 state diary series (hopefully, may not last that long haha, oh and no New Hampshire State House as those seats flip in a slight breeze) with quick action links that is a one stop shop to help you create the #BlueWave in downballot state legislative races across the country!
These representatives create the vast majority of legislation for everyday citizens and it’s about time we elect people who will represent the people and not their corporate and wealthy elite donors. I have included all candidates who have filed with an address that are listed on the Alaskan state candidate website. Only Independents (who either caucus with Democrats or are the only option against Republicans) or Democrats are listed and many do not have social media or websites up yet. With a late August 21st Primary Election Day there’s plenty of time for Team Blue to get things up and running, so don’t be concerned. Alaska’s gubernatorial election is fusion styled with the Governor and Lieutenant Governor running on the same ticket. We have a fantastic slate of candidates that could use your support! Minor note: districts that are safe D or unopposed I have left off this list.
Thanks to user Kelby Fischer for helping me narrow down the playing field!
