Child’s World America is “a national nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and to being a force for positive change for America’s children.” They have started a petition:

I hate to say it but this petition will probably do no good. It is preaching to the choir. It is a feel-good exercise, not that there's anything wrong with feel-good exercises.
To the far right, all liberals are bleeding heart snowflakes, and mental health professionals are both frauds and the worst snowflakes of all. This being said I added my name to the 2,618 mental health professional signers because I am a proud bleeding heart snowflake and the message is something I strongly believe.
I would have suggested a different approach using our mandated reporter status. Everyone with the credentials to do so in the states where this is happening should file child neglect and abuse reports to the appropriate agencies: police and/or DSS/CPS about what is being done to harm these children. I don't think that investigators could be denied access to the facilities the way Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley was.
The petition says:
“We, the undersigned, implore you to recognize what is at stake when children are taken from their mothers and other attachment figures. As psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, psychoanalysts, psychotherapists, and counselors we have a responsibility to report any concern of child maltreatment. This policy of separation is an indefensible violation of children’s civil rights and we uphold our responsibility as mandated reporters to sound the alarm.”
Mandated reporters do not sound the alarm by signing a petition.
They sound the alarm by picking up the phone and call the appropriate agency in their state or county.
