You claim to be faithful to the teachings of Christ. Please keep that in mind as you read the following.
The Republican Party is pandering to a base of voters who are driven by a fear of “the other”, that is, people who look different, speak differently, or believe differently than their image of what makes an “American”. In order to secure their votes and retain power, they are pushing anti-immigration policies which are inherently antithetical to the teachings of your messiah. Their policies are becoming increasingly inhumane, mirroring the early actions of the efforts to “cleanse” Europe of Jews in 1930’s Germany.
It was not enough to deport people who had lived productive lives in the U.S. for decades, ripping them from their families, their jobs, their businesses. Now they are tearing young children from their mothers’ arms for the sin of seeking a safer life, fleeing from violence in their homelands. These children are being sent to the modern day equivalent of concentration camps or “foster homes” which are sometimes not properly vetted.
Are these “family values”?
Are these compatible with the teachings you pretend to worship?
Jeff Sessions, like so many who claim to lead a moral life based on their faith, is using scriptural quotes to justify the horrific (and anti-Christian) anti-immigrant policy he has espoused. Similar claims of carrying out their religious duties have been used throughout history by the most barbaric government leaders – including Adolf Hitler.
Sessions claims that the Bible preaches that we should obey our government. That argument was used by British Tories against our Founding Fathers.
How does this cretin sleep?
How do his supporters look at themselves in the mirror?
How will your support for these cynical politicians – Trump, McConnell, Ryan, Sessions, et al. – be rewarded when it is your Judgment Day?
