Besides making phone calls and sending letters to congresspersons and administration officials, working with a local refugee resettlement committee, signing petitions and attending rallies, I am down on the mall of my hometown every day, Monday through Saturday, from 1:00-3:00 protesting the abhorrent immigration policy of this administration. It’s been interesting, since I live in a very conservative area — but a lot of the feedback has been positive. Is it doing any good? Who knows. But I can’t just sit idly by. Several local people have stood with me for hours at a time, so we can show a united front! Next step: working on a march from my hometown to Washington, DC, to protest the policy of tearing children away from their parents. I’ll let you know how that goes…
Seems like I’ve done nothing but protest, in one form or another, since 45 was elected — immigration, gun control, women’s rights, global warming, science march, school shootings, Muslim ban, education policy...my feet are getting tired, and so is my brain! But my heart is stronger than ever, and I won’t give up till this fascist administration is in prison, where they all belong! If you’ve got other ideas as to how I can make a difference, please let me know below!
