I don't know if Martin Luther King truly saw the promised land, but saying that he had helped carry people through some tremendously difficult moments and allowed them to keep going and doing work that materially improved people's lives.
Now more than ever we need our sociologists, historians, and seasoned activists to lead by teaching and preaching.
