The Trump campaign has turned Donald Trump’s wounded ego into a new website, “Promises Kept,” to celebrate his first 500 days of accomplishment:
“It’s a shame that such a platform is even necessary to overcome the errors and omissions reporting by the mainstream media — full of distortions, underreporting and lies — but we are pleased to present such a record of achievement by President Trump nonetheless,” Brad Parscale, campaign manager for Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., said in a statement.
A quick look at the website confirms that many of the “accomplishments” listed are rollbacks of former President Obama’s actual accomplishments. Where Obama put into place regulations to protect workers or clean our water and air, Trump has undone them. He has done his best to drive up uninsured rates by weakening Obamacare. Some of the “accomplishments” are lies—the old “drain the swamp” one makes an appearance—including the holy crap claim that he has “implemented higher ethical standards”—despite the mucky, predator-filled swamp Trump has constructed. His educational accomplishments are privatization under the name “school choice” and, no joke, “Experts from the financial services industry were brought into the Department of Education to modernize the way FSA offers and services student loans”—translation, “we put student lenders in charge of student loans.”
And then, of course, there’s immigration. Trump killed DACA! He asked for money for a border wall! (Didn’t get it, but he sure asked!) He arrested and deported more than 110,000 people! Really awful, immoral, cruel stuff.
But that’s what Trump has to brag about it. And if the media won’t report it his way, his campaign will turn his pouting into a website.
