I have still not gotten over Gabby Gifford’s idiotic endorsement of far right wing-nut PA Senator Pat Toomey in 2016. It was a very damaging endorsement because that along with the Comey letter seems to have pulled him over finish line. Toomey practically made Giffords his running mate in Southeastern PA.
She backed the former head of the Club for Growth, all because of his Kabuki Theatre vote in the Senate on background checks. He got the OK from McConnell to seem “bi-partisan” and “brave” while knowing that the bill would be fillibustered. Since then of course Toomey has been back to being on the most right wing Senators in America.
This was a complete stab in the back by her. It made NO sense. Toomey’s opponent was far stronger on the gun issue. Giffords also should have known that a Republican caucuses with McConnell, and he has said no further gun votes will be allowed to come up. It was perhaps the most stupid and damaging endorsement of 2016.
Her organization called me shortly afterwards asking for money, and I told them never another nickel as long as I live. Can you imagine if we had that Senate seat now with the Supreme Court nominee up?
Well, Giffords apparently wasn’t satisfied with screwing us in 2016, she is back to do it again in 2018.
She has now endorsed Republican Brian Fitzpatrick in PA-1. This is a very close Clinton district. Again, Fitzpatrick’s opponent Scott Wallace is FAR better on gun issues. And again Fitzpatrick is a faux moderate who caucuses with Republicans who will never let a gun vote to the floor.

Giffords knows this. We are working our butts off to flip this seat, just like we did for the Senate in 2016. This will be a very close race in a district that could decide the House.
WHY?
Gabby, please stay out of Pennsylvania politics! You have done a lot of damage to us. Your endorsements actually hurt gun safety and gun control.
I urge all Kossacks stop giving this organization money. If you want to give money for gun control issues there are a ton of older and better organizations out there!
Please donate to Scott Wallace’s ACTBLUE page to help overcome this.
