Rep. Beto O’Rourke has just announced his record-breaking 2nd quarter fundraising totals for his Senate race:
Here’s my transcript of his thank you message:
Hey! I just wanted to take a second to say thank you to everyone who has helped us to raise money, to be successful in this campaign, and to reach our fellow Texans.
In the last 3 months, all of us together — without PACs or corporations or special interests — have raised more than 10.4 million dollars.
And that comes from 215,714 individual contributors, most of them from Texas, giving 15, 25, 50 bucks at a time. The average contribution has been $33 over these last 3 months.
So, this is amazing! And you are making it happen, and I just wanted to say thank you.
Keep it up. Fewer than 4 months to go, and we’ve gotta reach everybody in Texas and make sure that everyone has a chance to do something great for our state and great for our country at the moment that it counts the most. Thank you.
Just a reminder: Beto doesn’t accept donations from any PACs whatsoever. No money from corporations or special interests, just grassroots donations from regular citizens.
And Beto still managed to more than double his opponent’s 2nd quarter fundraising: Everyone’s least favorite senator, Ted Cruz, raised only $4.6 million in the 2nd quarter.
This is our first real shot in decades of having someone at the top of the ticket in a midterm election who can help drive Democratic voter turnout in Texas. Beto can help all of our downballot candidates, and vice versa!
Please step up to help make sure that every potential Democratic voter is registered to vote at their current address.
And go to BetoforTexas.com to volunteer — text, make calls, knock doors, etc. — and to donate. Or find a local Democratic candidate and help GOTV.
Let’s do this, y’all!
