I just heard Tim Kaine mention this “Russian Reprimand” on All In with Chris Hayes. The Senator used it as a example of “how out of the loop” SOS Pompeo was, when answering the Senators’ questions about what Putin-Trump had agreed to, at the American Capitulation Summit:
Even the Nation’s Generals still haven’t been informed about this “New Military Policy”, vis-à-vis providing cooperation to Russian military forces, fighting in the Syrian War:
Washington (CNN) The Russian Ministry of Defense slammed US Gen. Joseph Votel Tuesday, accusing America's top military commander in the Middle East of discrediting President Donald Trump's position after Votel expressed hesitancy about working with Russia in Syria.
"With his statements, General Votel
not only discredited the official position of his supreme commander-in-chief, but also exacerbated the
illegality under international law and US law of the military presence of American servicemen in Syria," the Russian Ministry said in a statement published on social media in response to an
interview Votel gave to ABC News.
[...]
Secretary of State Pompeo, according to Kaine, was surprised by this new “Syrian policy” claim too — even though Pompeo said ‘he had been debriefed on the Putin-Trump secret meeting decisions’.
So much for being ‘on the inside’, Mike. Welcome to the club — of “American Nobodies” — Trump the Decider has spoken. … Just not to us.
I guess GOP Senators are “just fine” with U.S. Generals, taking their marching orders from Vlad, eh?
