Not too much I can say about this. Saw it this morning down in the bottoms but it was not there a week ago.
The Daily Bucket is a nature refuge where we amicably discuss animals, weather, climate, soil, plants, waters and note life’s patterns. We invite you to share in the comments what you see in your own part of the world.

Derrick D is his name, a building contractor in Tallahassee. Lived in the city a long time, overpaid for 20 acres on a pond out here west of town, spent a couple years building his dream house and moved in a couple months ago.
I'm sure he's a good person but ignorant about some things - like nature and all that. Being a building contractor, he probably thinks the world is there for him to remake however he likes. It's a short-sighted view of things, non-sustainable but then this is modern man and why the world is dying.
Other news down in the bottoms - the beaver appears to have moved on or maybe the new neighbor is a hunter of some sort. Either way the pond level and dams have not changed in the week since I poked holes in the series of 3 dams across the bottom of the hill to the man-made pond.
I'd like the level to be about a foot lower so the tree bases are above the water line. Yes I know, not my pasture, not my trees, not even my fence altho I repair it, but when the trees die and fall this way, then it's my cleanup.
And because I'm all about the wildflowers, here's one flowering now. Not much to look at but it is a native plant. It's called Rustweed (Polypremum procumbens) since the leaves get rusty-looking at the end of the season.
So now I have the retired homebuilder from Ft Myers on the north side trying to flatten the hill while cutting all the trees and this guy on the south side with no respect for his land. Oh joy…
OK, it’s after 9, time to publish. Thanks for stopping by and see ya in the comments.
