I heat with propane, I am on my third company in the 30 years I have lived here. The big national brand will screw you when ever they can. One of them let me run out of LP a day before I left on vacation, and I was on auto fill. Can you imagine coming home to a house where ALL the plumbing is broke?
The Michigan AG sued Amerigas and Furrelgas for millions of dollars for their pricing practices and failure to provide services. Where the money from the fines go, I don’t know.
My current propane company is local and the people I have dealt with are great. Prices are fair if you pre pay for X amount of LP, use more then the contract all bets are off.
I know about zero on why propane prices rise and fall but it has something to do with the price of a barrel of oil. Oil prices have been trending down for 2 weeks. I got a card in the mail today from a company I never heard of saying lock in now for the low price of a $1.59 a gallon. That would be a 23 cents increase from my last years lock in price. My advise is to lock in Now.
