Vicious right-wing troll Chuck Johnson doesn’t have to comply with an interview request by Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee now—but the request is a signal that if Democrats retake the House in November’s elections, Johnson might face a subpoena:
The Democratic lawmakers want information about Johnson’s work with Republican activist Peter W. Smith during the 2016 presidential campaign to obtain emails allegedly hacked from Hillary Clinton, according to the Monday letter from Shannon Green, a Democratic staffer on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Those efforts reportedly involved contact with people who purported to be Russian hackers in possession of emails stolen from Clinton.
Johnson is the rare Republican so vile he’s even been banned by Twitter. That was for threatening a Black Lives Matter activist—all part of being an open white supremacist—but he’s also a Holocaust denier. And wouldn’t it be interesting to know what contact he had with Russia in 2016? Let’s elect some Democrats and find out!
