Like most of you, I was mesmerized yesterday afternoon by the 1-2-3 punch of Cohen-Manafort-Hunter. I cried election night and for weeks because I knew instinctively how corrupt this administration would be.
But yesterday afternoon was about so much more than the dumpster fire that is the party in power today. Democrats broke through with their leadership of the future yesterday afternoon too. I figure there are plenty more days that will be just as dramatically awful in terms of bad news for Trump’s party. I got what I was hungry for — a glimpse of life beyond this regime.
Elizabeth Warren laid out a precise, thoughtful, and pragmatic vision for cleaning up the lobbying cesspool in Washington.
And at the same time, Beto O’Rourke explained the power and patriotism of nonviolent protest in a 4-minute grainy iPhone video that instantly went viral last night:

I’m in northern Maine, so almost all of my energy now goes into getting Jared Golden elected in the second district.
And then it is on to getting Sellout Suzie Collins out of office in 2020.
Maybe on the same ballot will be a Warren/O’Rourke ticket. Or maybe even a better ticket. I have no interest in opening up the 2020 primary flame wars — we’ll have at least a year of that. But I hope you find these videos as inspiring as I do. Democrats have some STRONG leadership in the wings who will break through, no matter what is happening in the news cycle on any given day. And whether it’s Warren, O’Rourke, or other equally talented visionaries, we’ll be ready to crawl over broken glass to vote for ‘em when our time finally comes.
