“Trump's Approval Number Nose-Dives, Dems' Blue Wave Might Be Building”
That’s the headline at Investor’s Business Daily — and yes, they used the word “nose-dives”.
Trump’s approval percentage has dropped 5 points since last month’s IBD/TIPP poll — from 41% to the current 36% .
More take-aways:
1.) Trump’s losing Republicans — last month had him at an 83% approval with GOP poll respondents. That figure has likewise dropped. Trump lost a full 7 points in a month and his approval rating with conservatives now stands at 76%.
2.) Trump’s losing male support — from 49% last month to 40% today.
3.) Trump’s losing Independents — from 37% last month to 33% today.
4.) Most significantly, Trump’s losing rural voters — a pretty stunning drop from 60% last month to 45% today.
There’s more, but those are the highlights.
And as I indicated in the headline, I don’t think this is an outlier poll. It’s one of the few polls that can boast an A rating from Nate Silver’s 538 site. And it jives quite well with the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll that also has Trump’s current approval at 36%.
You can almost hear that blue wave building offshore...
