Wake up, wake up, the sun cannot wait for long
Reach out, reach out before it fades away
You will find the warmth when you surrender
Smile into the fear and let it play
You wanna run away, run away and you say that it can’t be so
You wanna look away, look away but you stay cause’ it’s all so close
When you stand up and hold out your hand
In the face of what I don’t understand
My reason to be brave
Hold on, hold on, so strong, time just carries on
And all that you thought was wrong is pure again
You can’t hide forever from the thunder
Look into the storm and feel the rain

In the upcoming days you will hear a lot of names of places who say they will help put the Carolinas back on their feet. Two important things to remember #1 donate cash not supplies. Supplies take more effort to move and with cash they can buy the exact supplies that are needed. #2 check all charities through
Charity Navigator to make sure the money really is going to the people who need it and not to excessive administrations.
We have all heard of the American Red Cross but if you put them through Charity Navigator your find that it has a score of 84.09. For every hundred dollars given they take $!5.09 for Administrative. The CEO make $500,000 a year. Think how much help could be given to those in need without that excessive salary.
Now to organizations that will really help us.
Please let us know of any other relief funds. I’m looking for relief funds where the majority of money actually goes to help the victims and not excessive Administrative and fancy headquarters.
I am going to try and set up a fund here on Daily Kos as we start hearing for people with storm damage.
