This has been another white-knuckle week, and for once, it hasn’t all been the fault of the orange disgrace. Between the Ford/Kavanaugh hearing and it’s build-up, and the Rosenstein distraction, it seemed like we could have (once again) lost all hope of holding on to our democracy. And yet, once we got to Friday afternoon and Flake threw his wrench into Grassley’s ramrod machine, the flame of hope was not quite extinguished.
One of these days I will again write something other than an open-thread diary, but while this roller-coaster ride continues, I can’t make any guarantees…

I nominate this comment by Mark Lippman because I think it carries the kind of response necessary to combat racism from the ground up. And why it doesn't work to expect those operating with "isms" to play by the same rules. It's clear, and while not necessarily concise, Mark lays out the case for teaching everyone liberty and justice for all. Not the words, the actions.
