Rachel Maddow and her team went back years uncovering the truth about the far-right Federalist Society’s pick for a life time seat on the US supreme court, Brett Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh lied to congress during 2006 confirmation hearings to gain a seat on the appeals court. He lied again when he was over-ruled on Jane Doe in his attempt to justify forcing her to give birth.
I won’t be saying much because the experts should do the telling
Here are the reports from last night, September 3rd, 2018:
Published on Sep 3, 2018
Rachel Maddow outlines the historic depth of the unpopularity of Donald Trump's pick for Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, and and unearths audio of Kavanaugh looking for legalistic excuses to keep a 17-year-old pregnant immigrant from exercising her constitutional right to an abortion
That was the only you tube report available. The next three segments of Rachel Maddow reports are from the Rachel Maddow website @ MSNBC
September 3rd, 2018
Brigitte Amiri, deputy director of the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project, talks with Rachel Maddow about how Brett Kavanaugh's apparent resistance to allowing a pregnant immigrant access to an abortion contributes to the notion that he would help overturn Roe v. Wade if he were faced with that issue on the Supreme Court.

Nancy Northup, president of the Center for Reproductive Rights, talks with Rachel Maddow about why her organization has officially opposed Donald Trump's pick for the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, the first time in the organization's 25-year history that it has taken such a position.

Rachel Maddow looks at Brett Kavanaugh's testimony in his previous Senate confirmation hearing and how facts learned subsequently contradict his answers, an issue likely to come up now that he faces a new confirmation hearing for a seat on the Supreme Court.

And beside being a liar, a forced birther, and a corporate shill who operates more like a wind up toy citing (parroting) “precedent” from both Rehnquist (who was over-ruled and on the wrong side of Roe v. Wade) and Scalia (also over-ruled and on the wrong side of Planned Parenthood v. Casey) that was over-ruled → Nancy Northup, Center for Reproductive Rights, @ minute 2:48 of video report
Kavanaugh does not show signs of independent thought, or any actual original thought at all. When it comes to ‘precedent’, Kavanaugh abides the precedent that was rejected by the courts
Adding to that disqualifying record, Kavanaugh does not appear to believe that Donald Trump is bound by the rule of law — an almost complete reversal of stance when a Democrat held the Oval office.
Then there is this video report regarding Trump and his manifest corruption:

Again, the Center for Reproductive Rights, a non-partisan organization, weighs in for the first time:
So it seems to me that when people like Brigitte Amiri, deputy director of the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project, and Nancy Northup, president of the Center for Reproductive Rights and others with a deep knowledge of law, Civil Rights, and supreme court history and precedent, come out for the first time in opposition to the extremist-right Federalist Society choice, Brett Kavanaugh, to take a life time seat on the supreme court of the United States, it is a powerful rejection based on years of research, a full accounting of judicial precedent, jurisprudence, the rule of law, and the Constitution. Iow's what is truly at stake here
— and — imo — Nancy Northup was being way too polite when describing Kavanaugh as ‘misapplying the supreme court precedent on abortion’. This is an assault on everything covered above — including something that seems extremely dangerous, at least to me:
Trump / GOP is right now attempting to pack the supreme court, the highest law in the land; to Obstruct Justice in order to shield Trump from the indictment, prosecution, conviction, and eventual impeachment and imprisonment — the only thing that Trump has ever earned and has overproven he so richly deserves
