Okay, okay. Beauty pageants are misogynistic, retrograde shit lagoons of dickish antediluvian ethics and wanton dumbfuckery, but every once in a while a little wisdom slips through.
That happened on Friday, when Miss West Virginia, of all people, called out Donald Trump during an interview competition.
From The Washington Post:
When asked on Friday, the final night of the preliminary competition, what she believed was the most serious issue facing the nation, Madeline Collins, Miss West Virginia, name-checked the leader of the free world.
“Donald Trump is the biggest issue facing our country today,” Collins responded. As captured on video by a Press of Atlantic City reporter, Collins continued: “Unfortunately, he has caused a lot of divide in our country, and until we can trust in him and the choices that he makes for our country, we cannot become united.”
West Virginians and beauty pageant contestants are the two groups Trump has worked his hardest to con — for very different reasons.
If they turn against him, who knows how batshit bonkers he’ll get? Getting called out in a Pulitzer Prize-winning author’s book and a devastating anonymous NYT op-ed — his ego can recover from that. But et tu Miss West Virginny? Ooh, that’s gotta sting.
Here’s video of the dis going down.
Ouch.
