I just read an article where the hypocrite VP Pence whines about Obama’s criticism of the sexual predator in chief. Pence said:
“It was very disappointing to see President Obama break with the tradition of former presidents, and become so political and roll out the same tired arguments that he and liberals have made over the last eight years,” Pence said during a Fox News Sunday interview.
Now here we have a man who serves under an admitted sexual predator, an admitted sexual harasser, an admitted adulterer, a man who pays off prostitutes in order to silence them, and he’s criticizing Obama because Obama had the nerve to criticize Trump?
Obama has every right to criticize Trump, Trump deserves all the criticism he gets. Just because some former presidents have avoided criticizing their successors before doesn’t mean that there is a law against it. There is no law against criticizing your successor, Obama has every right to criticize Trump. He has as much right to free speech as anyone else. These are not normal times, and traditions like not criticizing your successor do not apply during these times.
We have a raving lunatic/criminal/traitor/psychopath in the Whitehouse and Obama has every right to point this out and make this point to voters as he goes around giving speeches and campaigning for Democrats around the country. He has every right to point out that these upcoming elections are at least in part about putting a check on the psychopath in the Whitehouse.
Pence then said:
“The truth is the American people in 2016 rejected the policy and direction of Barack Obama when they elected President Donald Trump,” Pence added.
No, actually, they didn’t. You and your adulterous, predatory, sexual harassing running mate actually received almost three million LESS popular votes than your opponents did. They rejected YOU and your criminal running mate, Mr. Pence. You and the sexual predator won only due to glitches in the electoral college which favor republicans.
How can you say they rejected Democrats when Democrats got almost three million more votes? You won on a fluke, Mr. Pence.
Obama had said:
“He is a symptom, not the cause,” Obama said. “He’s just capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years — a fear and anger that’s rooted in our past, but also born out of the enormous upheavals that have taken place.”
Obama is exactly correct here. Trump’s base loves him because of the resentments and hatreds that republican politicians and pundits have been fanning for decades. Trump expresses the hatreds and fears that Trump voters feel inside. Trump is the perfect republican for the present day and perfectly represents the modern republican party.
As for the tradition of former presidents avoiding criticizing their successors, maybe under normal circumstances that may be a decent idea, but these are not normal circumstances. We have a traitorous criminal who he thinks he and his party members should be above the law. Even his cabinet members admit he is a raving, unbalanced lunatic.
Obama has the right to free speech and the right to criticize Trump all he wants. To hell with the tradition of not criticizing your successors, Obama should criticize Trump all he wants and there is no law against that.
